Lots of novels include at least one fight scene at some point in the story. Whilst fight scenes can seem like an easy way to glue the reader to the action, they can be tricky to write. They need to serve a purpose, and take the plot further. A detailed blow by blow account of the action just won't cut it. A good fight scene will do more than just highlight the moment of conflict. It should also reveal more about the characters, and advance the plot.
