How to write and where to post Press Releases

Press Releases are becoming an increasingly popular PR tool on the Web and can be an excellent way to promote your work as a writer and the services you offer. They are also a good way to spread the word about your author events and new releases.

So how do you write a press release?

There is an excellent article at http://www.wikihow.com/Write-a-Press-Release that offers a step by step guide on how to write a press release and what needs to be included, plus some extra tips to help you get better results.

You can download a FREE ebook  by Jennifer Mattern at http://probusinesswriter.com/downloads/pressreleasesmadeeasy.htm. This short, 20-page e-book will teach you the fundamentals of press release writing, especially as it applies to the Web.

Where do you post your press releases?

  1. Thank you so much for posting this. I am finishing up a Bachelors in communication, but I really need more experience in PR and journalism. I will read this and also recommend Thinker's Thesaurus which is much more useful as a vocabulary enhancement tool than conventional thesauruses.

I love to hear from you. So feel free to comment, but keep in mind the basics of blog etiquette — no spam, no profanity, no slander, etc.

Thanks for being an active part of the Writers and Authors community.
